Who tested the H2CAP PLUS, what they measured, and what each document actually covers. These hydrogen water bottle certifications are real files you can open and read on this page — not badges we drew ourselves.

There are two kinds of hydrogen water bottle certifications, and they are not equal. Product-safety marks — CE, RoHS, KC — confirm the device is legal to sell and safe to handle. Material and performance testing confirms what touches your water is inert and that the device does what it claims. Most sellers show the first and skip the second. Below you can open 13 documents from eight issuing bodies, each with its report number, date and scope stated plainly.

Japan Hydrogen Water Promotion Association

JHPA, an industry association based in Osaka, measured the H2CAP in October 2018. The result: 1,036 ppb of dissolved hydrogen, read immediately after a 3 minute 30 second cycle on mineral water filled to 90% of the bottle, on a TRUSTLEX ENH-1000.

This is the one hydrogen figure on this site that did not come from us — an outside body, its own instrument, its own protocol. Among portable hydrogen water bottles, an independent performance measurement like this is the exception rather than the norm. Click either document to read it full-size.

Read this the way we do. The registration card that accompanied the test (No. A1085) ran to 16 October 2020 and has not been renewed. So we describe the 1,036 ppb figure as a third-party measurement made in 2018 — not as a certification the product currently holds. The test report itself does not expire; the membership-style registration did.

What’s patented, and what isn’t

IonFarms holds 12 registered patents across its water electrolysis technology. It is more useful to tell you which of them actually cover this product than to wave the number around.

Cover the H2CAP PLUS generator

Three Korean registrations apply directly to this device — the cap-mounted generator, the electrolysis method, and the temperature control that adapts the cycle to the water it is given.

Cover the earlier ionizer line

The remaining nine cover IonFarms’ alkaline and acidic ionizer systems — the technology the portable device grew out of. Five of them are registered outside Korea and do not apply to the H2CAP PLUS at all.

Why split the count like this? Because “12 patents” on a spec sheet implies twelve inventions protecting the product in front of you, and that is rarely true for any company. Being specific — three on the portable generator, nine on the ionizer lineage — is the same standard we apply to the ppb numbers and to the expiry date on the JHPA card above. All twelve are registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office and verifiable by registration number on request.

In-house testing: the IonFarms R&D institute

Our own ppb and ORP figures — the 1,000–1,500 ppb and −400 to −800 mV ranges quoted elsewhere on this site — are measured here, on a Trustlex ENH-2000 and a WTW MultiLab Pro 40 IDS. It is a KOITA-recognised corporate research institute: an R&D organisation, not an accredited third-party testing body. That distinction is exactly why the JHPA report and the SGS and KCL reports above carry the weight they do.

What touches your water is tested too

Compliance is not only about the electronics. Every wetted part is chosen to stay chemically silent, and two German laboratory reports say so rather than us: BPA-free Tritan released under 1 mg/dm² in overall migration against a 10 mg/dm² limit, and the inert platinum-titanium electrode came back below the limit of quantification for all twenty-one metals measured — nickel, lead, cadmium, chromium included. The food-grade silicone seals and the water itself were covered separately by the Korean drinking-water panel.

No ozone or chlorine reaches the drinking side, because the Nafion™ PEM vents them from the outer chamber.

Put together, these hydrogen water bottle certifications answer the three questions a serious buyer asks: is it legal to sell here, is it safe to drink from, and does it actually perform? CE, RoHS and KC settle the first. The SGS migration reports, the KCL drinking-water panel and the membrane SDS settle the second. The JHPA measurement and our published test method address the third — with the 2018 date and the expired registration stated rather than buried. A distributor can hand this package to a retailer or a regulator without having to fill a single gap themselves.
