User GuideHow to Use a Hydrogen Water Bottle
Learning how to use a hydrogen water bottle takes about a minute. Below is the daily routine for the H2CAP PLUS, followed by the required first-use cleaning cycle, LED signals, error codes, and care tips. A full cycle runs roughly 3.5–5 minutes depending on your water.
First time? Run the cleaning cycle before your first use — see First-use cleaning below. It only takes a couple of minutes and protects the electrode.
How to Use a Hydrogen Water Bottle in Four Steps
Fill the bottle
Use clean drinking water below 50 °C. Fill close to the top. Fits 28 mm and 30 mm threads.
Attach & invert
Screw the H2CAP PLUS onto the bottle, then turn it upside down so the cap faces the water.
Connect USB
Plug in a USB source (max 4.5 W). Generation starts automatically; a white LED shows it's running.
Wait for orange
After ~3.5–5 minutes the LED turns solid orange. Unplug, turn upright, and drink promptly.
Watch the full sequence: fill, attach, invert, and connect USB.
First-use cleaning cycle
Before the very first use — and whenever the orange LED blinks to signal cleaning is due — run the cleaning cycle once. It clears manufacturing residue and mineral scale from the electrode.
- Add one descaler sachet and about 100 ml of water to the bottle, then attach the H2CAP PLUS.
- Connect USB power. After about 3 seconds the white LED lights, then goes off — now disconnect.
- Reconnect USB power. The cleaning cycle starts automatically and runs for about 2 minutes.
- When it finishes, rinse the cap and bottle with clean water. You're ready for normal use.

Water, power & temperature
Recommended
- Clean drinking water: purified, RO, tap, or mineral water.
- Water below 50 °C. Mineral or alkaline water gives the highest readings.
- Standard USB power banks and adapters (max 4.5 W).
- Phones need an OTG adapter to supply power.
Avoid
- Salt, carbonated, flavored, or sugary liquids — they foul the electrode.
- Water above 50 °C.
- Powering from an iPhone — it does not supply power to the device.
- Running the unit with a wet USB connector.
Care & storage
When storing the H2CAP PLUS, leave a small amount of water inside and close the top cap so the electrode does not dry out. Run the cleaning cycle whenever the orange LED blinks. With routine care, the electrode stays in good condition and output holds to target. Rinse the cap after each session, keep the USB port dry, and avoid dropping the unit, since the electrode assembly is precision-made. If the device sits unused for several weeks, run a short cleaning cycle before your next use to clear any settled scale and confirm the unit is signaling normally.
